What can you do in the Vendée if you like cultural visits? Here are our suggestions:
- As you stroll through the village of Saint Hilaire la Forêt, during your stay at the 4-star Vendée campsite, you may find yourself walking on megalithic ground for the first time. There are several dolmens and menhirs around the campsite, including the Menhir du Camp de César, one of the highest in France (7 metres).
- Just a few kilometers away, the Marais Poitevin offers a different atmosphere, this time by canoe. Follow the canals from the marshes of Longeville sur Mer and contemplate the sumptuous landscapes before you.
- Another coastal gem is La Maison Clémenceau in Saint Vincent sur Jard. Overlooking the beach, Georges Clémenceau’s former home will inspire you to find out more about “Le Tigre”. You can take the Ragnette circuit, a hiking trail between land and sea, to reach the Jard sur Mer marina and the Moulin de Conchette.
