FAQ – Preparing your stay in our Vendée region
Are sheets provided in the accommodation?
Bed linen is provided in Signature and Premium accommodations. Bathroom linen (towels) are not supplied but are available for hire: small and large towel kit for €10, 2 tea towels kit for €5.
What types of accommodation are available at camping La Grand’ Métairie?
The campsite offers a wide range of products to suit all profiles: eco-designed Signature cottages (1 or 2 bedrooms, sleeps 4), Premium cottages and mobile homes (1 to 3 bedrooms, sleeps 3 to 6, with dishwasher and Wi-Fi), Comfort cottages and mobile homes (2 or 3 bedrooms, sleeps 4 to 6), a Comfort PMR cottage accessible to people with reduced mobility, tent lodges for an unusual glamping experience, and 100m² pitches with electricity for tents, caravans and motorhomes.
What’s the difference between Signature, Premium and Comfort accommodation?
The Signature cottages have been eco-designed by the campsite team in a warm, authentic Vendée style. They include TV, Wi-Fi and bed linen, and the 2-bedroom model is air-conditioned. Pets are not allowed. Premium (cottages and mobile homes) are the best-equipped accommodations: Wi-Fi, TV, sheets, dishwasher and chiliennes included, for 6-person units. Pets are allowed except in the 1-bedroom Premium Cottage. The Confort cottages or mobile homes are well-equipped, with TV included, for 4 to 6 people. Pets are welcome.
Is there accommodation suitable for families with babies?
Yes, the 1-bedroom Premium Cottage (32m²) is specially designed for 2 adults and 1 baby: it includes a cot and high chair in the rental package, as well as TV, Wi-Fi, sheets and chilinis. The kitchen is equipped with an electric induction hob. Short stay 2 nights minimum. Pets are not allowed in this accommodation. Other accommodations have rooms adapted for babies. Please consult the accommodations and our team is available by phone for further advice.
What is a lodge tent and how is it different from a mobile home?
The lodge tent is an unusual type of accommodation nestled in a completely green, pedestrian area of the campsite. It combines the spirit of the great outdoors with the comfort of permanent accommodation: 2-burner gas kitchen, fridge, freezer, microwave oven, bathroom and covered terrace, for 4 people. It doesn’t have a TV, so you can really get away from it all. Pets are welcome (€6/day).
Does the campsite have accommodation accessible to people with reduced mobility?
Yes, the Cottage Confort PMR (23m², sleeps 4) is specially equipped with an access ramp, walk-in shower, adapted layout and covered terrace overlooking a small garden. TV included. Pets allowed.
What are the camping labels?
The campsite is part of the Camping Paradis network.
It is not VACAF-approved.
Is it possible to take a short break?
Yes, all our accommodations offer short stays from a minimum of 2 nights. Ideal for a weekend or long-weekend getaway in the Vendée.
What are the arrival and departure times?
Arrivals are from 4pm and departures before 10am.
Are pets allowed in the accommodation?
Yes, most accommodations accept pets: 2 in low season and 1 in high season. Price: €6 per day per pet. Vaccination certificate required at reception. Category 1 and 2 dogs are not permitted. Signature cottages and 1-bedroom Premium Cottage do not accept pets.
Does the campsite have a heated indoor swimming pool?
Absolutely! The campsite offers a complete aquatic area with an indoor swimming pool heated to 29°, a large outdoor pool and a paddling pool heated from early June. So you can enjoy swimming from April onwards, whatever the weather, for a serene vacation in the Vendée.
What services are available on site?
Reception open from April 4 to September 12, 9am to 12:30pm and 2pm to 6pm. On-site: grocery store with bread and pastries, laundromat (€6.50 laundry token included, €5 drying token), free Wi-Fi at reception and at La Guinguette (chargeable access throughout the campsite: €6/day or €20/week). Rental available: gas or charcoal barbecue (35€/week), bed linen (16€/unit), bath towel kit (10€), 2 tea towels (5€), complete baby kit (chair + bathtub + bed) (35€/week), refrigerator for pitches (40€/week), end-of-stay cleaning (100€), additional vehicle (14€).
Is there a mini-farm at the campsite?
Yes, La Grand’ Métairie has an educational mini-farm set apart from the pitches, for the peace and quiet of holidaymakers and animals alike. There are goats, a pony, peacocks and chickens in secure enclosures. Families are invited to feed the animals every morning from 10am. Depending on the season, gardening workshops in the vegetable garden can also be organized.
