Prefou: a generous aperitif

The prefou is the ideal aperitif! This simple bread is split, then generously topped with semi-salted butter, fresh garlic and parsley. It should be served hot! The garlic releases its intense fragrance, and the butter melts into the crumb.

The Vendée mogette: the pearl of the bocage

The mogette de Vendée is protected by a PGI since 2010! This white beangrown in the bocage region, is renowned for its thin skin and melting flesh after cooking. Its history dates back to the 17th century! This a typical Vendée dish perfectly embodies the richness of the Pays de la Loire region.

IGP Vendée ham: matured with character

The Vendée ham ham is also IGP. This specialty of the Vendée gastronomy benefits from a unique preparation, to suit the region’s climate! After boning, the ham is rubbed with salt, sprinkled with wine brandy and covered with spices (thyme, bay leaf, cinnamon). It is then pressed between planks. Tender and soft, it reveals fruity and spicy aromas.

The Atlantic coast is the perfect iodine counterpoint! The port of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie provides sole, whiting and hake. The island of Yeu is also a prime spot for discovering the flavors of the sea.
