Pays des Olonnes, the heart and soul of the Vendée

Located in the heart of the Coast of Light, in the southwest area of the Vendée, Pays des Olonnes is the region’s most touristic area. It is composed of several cities: Ile d’Olonne, Olonne-sur-Mer, Château d’Olonne and Les Sables d’Olonne. This tourist destination is the ideal destination for families in the Vendée. Thanks to a great variety of landscapes and activities, Pays des Olonnes offers you a wide range of sports as well as a number of nautical, cultural and even historical activities. Olonne-sur-Mer is the city where nature is most active. Through its hiking trails, bike paths and forest adjoining the sea, the town is the ideal place to relax by the ocean. Nearby, Château d’Olonne reveals its natural coast where many cyclists come to enjoy its long and pleasant bike paths by the sea. Finally, further north, Ile d’Olonne is the cradle of the marshlands and is located along the bird migratory route, offering bird watchers fabulous shows. Pays des Olonnes is also very easily accessible thanks to the major western roads leading directly to Les Sables d’Olonne.
